Alaska Airline and Horizon Airlines charge heterosexual customers more

Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air have announced a new program that will charge heterosexuals 10 percent extra for their air travel to specific locations during the Christmas season.

The company actually offers the 10 percent as a discount but only if the purchaser obtains the ticket through a "gay" page of the company's website, a location not typically patronized by families seeking travel arrangements, according to an Idaho activist who was distressed by the offering.

Bryan Fischer, of the Idaho Values Alliance, told WND the company boasts of its "nondiscrimination" policies, but, "here they are blatantly discriminating against heterosexuals in their pricing structure."

Word of the discount came through an airline employee, who needed to remain anonymous because of concerns over retaliation. The employee reported the company had sent e-mails out announcing the "very soft launch" of the new promotion.

"They are giving preferences to male passengers who want to wear dresses on the planes, and giving them preference over married couples," Fischer said, noting families typically buy more tickets than individuals or pairs traveling together.

"It just doesn't seem like it's smart business for them to stick their thumb in the eye of the main passengers," he told WND.

He said he had called the company's reservations number and the clerk was unaware of the program and it didn't come up on the general list of discounts available to reservations agents, but he did verify that the "gay" page discount was valid – but only by going through the "gay" page.

"The only way you could take advantage of this is to self-identify as a homosexual, lesbian, bisexual or transgender. Otherwise you're out of luck," Fischer told WND.

The actual program, he noted, doesn't demand a person be homosexual, but is set up so that only those deliberately looking for "gay" travel options would find it.

A spokeswoman for the airline, Amanda Bielawski, returned WND's call requesting a comment, but didn't answer questions, noting that she didn't know about the program. Then she quizzed WND on who had given the news organization information on the program.

Fischer said he'd been told by sources the corporation viewed the homosexual community as a "gigantic profitable segment of the market."

The company earlier had an offer to travel to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, under its "gay" discount, and currently is offering discounted "holiday" travel.

"Lucky travelers who immediately switch their sexual orientation from heterosexual to anything else can qualify for a special 10 percent discount for holiday travel to New York City," noted Fischer. "All they have to do, according to Alaska, is enter a special discount code "when you purchase your tickets at [the "gay" web page].

"Alaska is basically imposing a 10 percent surcharge for these destinations on travelers who are sexually normal. It's certainly odd to see such blatant discrimination against heterosexuals from a company that claims to be all about equal treatment for everyone," Fischer said.

"It's always a mistake for a company to establish policies that normalize homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality and transgenderism, but to add insult to injury by penalizing straights in the process is inexcusable," he said.

The airline's special page also promotes flights to events such as the "5th Los Angeles LGBT People of Color Film Festival," and the "8th International Conference of Gay and Lesbian Tourism."

Within about five minutes of the collapse, the US Department of Homeland Security issued a statement: "There is no indication of terrorism in the disaster".

Wow... those guys are so good. Instead of saying, "We just don't know what happened yet", they're already 100% certain that no one was involved in intentionally causing harm to this bridge. The very fact that DHS rushes such statements out worries me. They really have no clue but in order to insure there is no panic (is that why?), they say such things. And because they do rush this kind of a blanket statement out, you can rest assured that they will say the same thing if indeed there WAS terrorism behind an event.

Such a waste of government resources... they ought to rename themselves the U.S. Department of Propaganda. This is at a time when we need clarity, honesty, and a transparent government. Sadly, we have none of those.

Virginia Tech and John Edwards... any difference?

A distinction that is largely being ignored (purposefully) is that the Supreme Court DID NOT BAN ABORTION. They DID outlaw a very controversial type of abortion call LATE TERM; a process in which a baby is killed literally upon birth. In all other ages of history, this specific singular process was called infanticide and was often that mark of a barbaric society.

Senator John Edwards then released the following statement about the Supreme Court ruling upholding the federal abortion ban:

"I could not disagree more strongly with today's Supreme Court decision. The ban upheld by the Court is an ill-considered and sweeping prohibition that does not even take account for serious threats to the health of individual women. This hard right turn is a stark reminder of why Democrats cannot afford to lose the 2008 election. Too much is at stake - starting with, as the Court made all too clear today, a woman's right to choose."

Too much is at stake to stop killing? What?

As I examine Edwards words, how is he that much different from Cho, at Virginia Tech? Both are rambling and incoherent, both use crooked logic, both are blaming others, both are wanting to murder life.

If there is proof that every woman that undergoes late term abortion is actually in a life threatening condition, that is one thing. But, really, we ALL know this is truly NOT the case. Does Edwards, and the left, think we're idiots here?

Is life SO CHEAP that we are willing to throw it away, after is has already begun, and at the moment of birth, without a moments regret? Is it so cheap that politicians CAMPAIGN on this right to murder? No WONDER we end up with children like Cho. No wonder our values are gone.

Then, we act outraged at what Cho did to those poor students? Hypocrisy and mental illness I think. We should be outraged at ALL loss of life, young and old.

What kind of monster then is Edwards? Actually desiring a process to continue in which children are killed brutally, at birth? Not in the first few months of pregnancy, but AT BIRTH. Edwards IS Cho... show me the difference if any exists!

Barbara Boxer IS Cho. Feinstein IS Cho. Edwards IS Cho. One kills with a gun, the other kills with a pen. Both murders are ghastly and grisly and painful.

* "1st Speaker: A Muslim cleric invoking the name of Allah and quoting the Quran."

* "2nd Speaker: A Buddhist Community Leader preaching that mankind is basically 'good.'"

* "3rd Speaker: A Female speaker from the Jewish Community quoting Ecclesiastes: 'There is a time for everything.'"

* "4th Speaker: A Liberal Lutheran Minister talking about 'healing,' etc. and how everyone needs to come together (blah, blah, blah…)."

Uhhh, say, why has no one mentioned the name of Jesus? That is correct... not once.
Does no one see this as strange? Everybody, everything (including elephants in Africa and baby seals in the Arctic), and every deity, BUT NO Jesus Christ?

This is just wrong, and woefully PC.

We impose our puny way of life and philosophy onto others and we're disrespectful of other people, other countries, other families, other religions (and I DO NOT mean Islam here, they are worse and less tolerant than we are with all of their "Kill the Infidel" stuff in the Koran).

We worship abominations under the guise of tolerance, when we ourselves are 100% intolerant. We ascribe rights to abominations while destroying all things in our past that represent value and virtue. We put perversion and crooked behavior on the alter to raise homage to them , while simultaneously tearing down everything meaningful, anything wise, and anything family oriented. We banish Christianity (the TRUE religion of peace) while raising and protecting ANY belief or practice that is nothing more than anti-Christian - and we call that, in our own twisted way, "tolerance".

We're destroying ourselves. We're idiots. We're toast. And we can't even see it... So, appropriately, we will sink into the morass of history and become a footnote in the big scheme of things (just like the Roman periods of Caligula and Nero, et al). As it should be. We've fallen... and we can't get up. And there ain't no button for us to push to have help come and rescue us. We did this to ourselves. We're ALL to Blame

I read, with much interest, a recent editorial claiming that the American economy is collapsing. The bottom line of the article is that the corporate world is essentially to blame: "America has been scammed big-time over the years. The corporate wheelers and dealers, with the complicity of their bought and paid for political whores in Washington, have sold the American working man down the river, and the general welfare of the entire country as well."

The author continues to say that the "corporate crooks" now blame the "greedy American worker, the communist labor unions, the demand of Americans to have clean air and water, and worst of all the bunker mentality of the American people to put up fences against free trade, protectionism." He also reasons that these corporations own most mass media in America and as a result, they work to insure the blame isn't put upon the corporations.

So, what is the truth here? Well, as usual, a little of everything.

Corporations are suffering from agency issues. Where stakeholders hire a management team to run a company, the management team has basically taken the company as their own and to hell with the stakeholders. To wit, the enormous salaries, perks, and golden parachutes managers award themselves (via their pals on the board). How did this happen? Here is how: Your representatives (you elected) care more about their relationship with big business than with you, the SEC is a joke, stockholders are unconsciousness, huge blocks of stock are now managed by singularly friendly fund managers and investment houses, and even those that are individual stockholders often blithely state, "hey if they keep the stock price up, give them the huge salary." Bottom line: stakeholder GAVE UP their control. Should I continue?

I work for a large global concern... they regularly threw HUGE 3-4 day parties at their world headquarters inviting ONLY investment managers and Wall Street Analysts. These were large, lavish, plush, and EXPENSIVE events with the finest wine and champagne - using the stakeholders dividends or assets. Yet, not a peep of outrage from the stakeholders. The company? A large IT firm. And all the while the stock was plummeting.

And if you think you're going to get back any kind of control... I laugh at you. You willingly GAVE IT UP. We all did. It's too late - fasten your seat belts.

Considering the corporate charge? Yes... American's are greedy. Nothing else matters and that same message is repeatedly pushed into our mushy heads to reinforce that. To wit: the mainstream media's (FOX, CNN, et al.) obsession with dead Anna Nicole Smith and her baby. It's ALL ABOUT money and nothing more.

And yes, unions are paid far more than they should be but they have a legitimate beef when they claim that management's salaries are rising exponentially - so then should theirs.

Who are the corporate leaders? Management. And so unskilled labor is just following the leader. Can you blame them?

And let's talk about the consumer. John and Jane Doe. They put their children into daycare so that both can be bring home more and more and more and more money. Greed above family? Everyone HAS TO HAVE the latest toys, newest cars, biggest houses - whether they can afford them or not.

Yet, all the consumer has to do is not buy what they don't need or really want. That won't happen though. We must ALL keep up with the Joneses and we're all in debt up to eyeballs. Easy credit is the gasoline on the fire... low interest rates are the logs on the fire... greed is the match that starts the fire... and our own inability to think clearly or act rationally is the wind that fans the fire.

We have a bonfire at hand - but the blame rests with all of us.

College Professor Demands Republicans Be Killed

A professor at North Idaho College says it's all right to talk about executing "anyone who's ever voted Republican". The belief was expressed by instructor Jessica Bryan, of Northern Idaho College when her comments were challenged by a student, Linda Cook, who served as an aide to the late U.S. Rep. Helen Chenoweth, R-Idaho, and is a longtime supporter of the Republican Party.

Among statements made by Jessica Bryan, in the English class she teaches: "President George W. Bush won the election because people … can't read." Bryan then continues: "First we line up everyone who can't think and right behind them, anyone who's ever voted Republican." and we kill them.

Well well... so much for enlightened educators in our colleges. Here we have one openly calling for the execution of Republicans. And this is "tolerance"?

When everything backfired and public sentiment came down hard on Bryan for her insane hate filled in class rant, she said "it's OK to say that, as long as one smiles when they say it". Bryan, in her own defense then continues: Anyone that disagrees with me with me is really the ones filled with hate. Now Bryan contends - she is the one that has been hurt by others reactions to her hate "with a smile".

Oh my God... either she is nuts or she is an idiot - why does she still have her job? Folks, this is at Northern Idaho College. Again, the instructors name is Jessica Bryan.

One person, Professor J.F. Buckley, did not like the subject matter in the book and immediately claimed HARASSMENT and THAT HE WAS THREATENED BY THE WORDS IN THE BOOK. The Ohio State chicken-sh*t faculty voted 12-0 in favor of the homosexual professor Buckley; that the WORDS IN THE BOOK were a THREAT and that Librarian Savage was a THREAT.

More Evidence of Infrastructure Breakdown

Thursday, 15 February 2007, a truck jack-knifed on an ice covered road in Pennsylvania. Twenty four hours later... there was still no response to this accident, which by now had caused a backup of cars for over 50 miles. Is this evidence of a shortage of people or capabilities, or is this a breakdown in communications? Either way, this is absurd. Either way, this is a system unable to cope with an event that could have been resolved within an hour. In my opinion, this is clear evidence of our continued infrastructure breakdown.

Feb. 12, 2000: Vice President Al Gore changed his answers during FBI interviews when confronted with documents in a fund-raising investigation and suggested he may have missed part of a meeting in which campaign-finance issues may have been discussed because he drank too much iced tea, FBI documents revealed. Trying to explain parts of the meeting he said he didn't recall, Gore told the FBI he normally sits next to the president in such meetings and that the two sometimes consult while the meeting is going on, thereby missing the surrounding discussion.

"The Vice President also observed that he drank a lot of iced tea during meetings, which could have necessitated a restroom break," the FBI summary stated. "It was not uncommon for him, and for that matter the President, to excuse themselves from meetings to use the restroom."

WND has obtained a copy of the government-issued border pass given to Osbaldo Aldrete-Davila, the drug smuggler granted immunity to testify against Ramos and Compean. The border pass allowed multiple entries to the U.S. and carried the signature and badge number of Sanchez.

The border pass appears to have been issued March 16, 2005, the day Sanchez brought Aldrete-Davila to William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, to have a bullet removed from his right thigh.

"Aldrete-Davila was issued what amounts to a 'Gold Elite' border pass," Andy Ramirez, chairman of the Friends of the Border Patrol, told WND. "With the stamp for multiple entries into the United States, Aldrete-Davila didn't have to run the back roads as a drug smuggler any more. He could tell his drug bosses in Mexico that he could drive their loads right through border crossing points without much worry."

"Imagine if a Christian priest or minister had prayed at a DNC meeting that those attending be guided away from the path of those doomed by God," Spencer said.

Verdict Reversal for Ex-Border Patrol Agent

David Sipe is a once convicted criminal who can honestly say he "didn't do it."

"Relief. Relief. After 7 years, it's gone. It's over." The ex-border patrol agent gets a 2001 guilty verdict overturned in his retrial for civil rights violations against a smuggler. The incident dates back to April of 2000 in Penitas.

"He was striking me in the side... he was very close to my weapon... and I had to do what I could to control the situation as fast as I could." Fearing for his life, David subdues the smuggler by hitting him with his flashlight. It results in staples to the smugglers head. A border patrol investigation is launched and deems his actions inappropriate-- even illegal.

"I don't know how they're able to do that... but I don't think that's fair."

Neither did a jury who overturns his conviction from the first trial against him.

David says the government, who he faithfully worked under for nearly 4 years, turns its back on him while rolling out the red carpet, as he puts it, for the illegals turned witnesses.

"They got to stay here and work in our country." The smuggler even gets a government settlement. "80 thousand dollars... he now has his own ranch in Mexico.' As for David-- he doesn't collect a thing. In fact, his life and family gets ripped apart.

"My house foreclosed on after having to file bankruptcy, my children having to live through this... of course my wife divorcing me." Through it all, he says, justice is served. And while most about David is forever changed one thing returns and it's most important thing to him of all. "I have my freedom back. I'm a man of honor again." What lead to this morning's "not guilty" verdict reversal against the former border patrol agent? Turns out his attorney says the prosecution in the first trial supressed evidence and lied about benefits given to "Alien" witnesses.

Attorney Jack Wolfe explains. "They with-held evidence about their witnesses who had prior convictions...they didn't tell us... they were supposed to tell us. In fact, they told us that they had no witnesses with convictions." A new trial was granted and David Sipe's conviction was thrown out. As a result, Sipe is a free man and fighting to get his job back.

My opinion: Ford and GM will (HAVE TO) follow shortly since they want their assembly plants near Delphi's parts making. This then also puts the crimp on any sub assembly companies that service Delphi, Ford, GM, etc... The ripple effects will be enormous over time.

When we have 1) Management that gives itself million dollar raises, 2) Laborers that demand $90,000 a year plus the most outrageous health care and retirement packages in the universe... while foreign labor is paid 2 dollars an hour? You tell me there's no war on the Middle-Class!

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) - A second U.S. aircraft carrier strike group now steaming toward the Middle East is Washington's way of warning Iran to back down in its attempts to dominate the region, a top U.S. diplomat said here Tuesday.

Nicholas Burns, U.S. undersecretary of state for political affairs, ruled out direct negotiations with Iran and said a rapprochement between Washington and Tehran was "not possible" until Iran halts uranium enrichment. [They won't.]

"Iran is going to have to understand that the United States will protect its interests if Iran seeks to confront us," Burns continued.

Weather Channel Dr. Cullen Insists She is Right

James Spann, chief meteorologist for ABC 33/40 in Alabama, who has been in operational meteorology since 1978, said Dr. Cullen is wading into dangerous waters when it comes to judging her colleagues.

"I do not know of a single TV meteorologist who buys into the man-made global warming hype. I know there must be a few out there, but I can’t find them," Spann said on his blog. At NCAR, she will test whether the use of climate models can improve water resource management at the world's largest hydroelectric plant: Itaipu Binacional, which provides power to Brazil and
Paraguay. The challenge is to prevent flooding without unnecessarily curbing energy generation."

Give me a flippin break. This so called Weather Channel Climate Expert has not studied meteorology at all, nor any Earth Sciences, nor any real overview of climate systems aside from one paper she did for her supposed Doctorate. She studied religion and some operations research in her undergraduate years - well whoopie! I studied Earth Sciences, Meteorology, Climatology, Geography, as well as engineering and computer science in my undergraduate years. And I studied operations systems (whoopie) in my graduate studies. She never went to grad school... she just wrote a thesis for her Doctorate. I could do that and run circles around her. What a QUACK! Good job Weather Channel, you hired a political quack to be your climate expert! I hope that real meteorologists hand her her head real soon...

Mr. Bush Takes over the National Guard?

A little-noticed change in federal law packs an important change in who is in charge the next time a state is devastated by a disaster such as Hurricane Katrina.

To the dismay of the nation’s governors, the White House now will be empowered to go over a governor’s head and call up National Guard troops to aid a state in time of natural disasters or other public emergencies. Up to now, governors were the sole commanders in chief of citizen soldiers in local Guard units during emergencies within the state.

A conflict over who should control Guard units arose in the days after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. President Bush sought to federalize control of Guardsmen in Louisiana in the chaos after the hurricane, but Gov. Kathleen Blanco (D) refused to relinquish command.

Over objections from all 50 governors, Congress in October tweaked the 200-year-old Insurrection Act to empower the hand of the president in future stateside emergencies. In a letter to Congress, the governors called the change "a dramatic expansion of federal authority during natural disasters that could cause confusion in the command-and-control of the National Guard and interfere with states' ability to respond to natural disasters within their borders."

Mr. President,

You have turned your back on the sovereignty of this nation. You continue to ignore the festering situation on our southern borders... anarchy is breaking out. Our US troops are being attacked and shot at. Our border patrol agents are being punished for doing their job. We are being infiltrated by thousands of illegal immigrants a day... many from Iran, Iraq, the Middle East, and other countries. The security of this nation, her people, her law enforcement officials has been ignored and ruined.

We have American citizens that have taken to guarding our borders and you call them rogue elements - how dare you! They are doing this because YOU refuse to do your job.
I call on you to immediately put armed troops on the border to stop the inflow of drug runners, coyotes, gang members, illegal aliens, and to start protecting legitimate US citizens. I call on you to use whatever force is necessary to stop the out of control anarchy that is occurring there. I call on you to halt this migration that is ruining the environment all along the border. I call on you to do the job you swore an oath to accomplish - to protect America and her legitimate citizens.

Mexico Attacks the United States - Anarchy on the Border

"A U.S. Border Patrol entry Identification Team site was overrun Wednesday night along Arizona's border with Mexico. According to the Border Patrol, an unknown number of gunmen attacked the site in the state's West Desert Region around 11 p.m. The site is manned by National Guardsmen. Those guardsmen were forced to retreat. The Border Patrol will not say whether shots were fired. However, no Guardsmen were injured in the incident. The Border Patrol says the incident occurred somewhere along the 120 mile section of the border between Nogales and Lukeville. The area is known as a drug corridor. Last year, 124-thousand pounds of illegal drugs were confiscated in this area. The Border patrol says the attackers quickly retreated back into Mexico."
