Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air have announced a new program that will charge heterosexuals 10 percent extra for their air travel to specific locations during the Christmas season.

The company actually offers the 10 percent as a discount but only if the purchaser obtains the ticket through a "gay" page of the company's website, a location not typically patronized by families seeking travel arrangements, according to an Idaho activist who was distressed by the offering.

Bryan Fischer, of the Idaho Values Alliance, told WND the company boasts of its "nondiscrimination" policies, but, "here they are blatantly discriminating against heterosexuals in their pricing structure."

Word of the discount came through an airline employee, who needed to remain anonymous because of concerns over retaliation. The employee reported the company had sent e-mails out announcing the "very soft launch" of the new promotion.

"They are giving preferences to male passengers who want to wear dresses on the planes, and giving them preference over married couples," Fischer said, noting families typically buy more tickets than individuals or pairs traveling together.

"It just doesn't seem like it's smart business for them to stick their thumb in the eye of the main passengers," he told WND.

He said he had called the company's reservations number and the clerk was unaware of the program and it didn't come up on the general list of discounts available to reservations agents, but he did verify that the "gay" page discount was valid – but only by going through the "gay" page.

"The only way you could take advantage of this is to self-identify as a homosexual, lesbian, bisexual or transgender. Otherwise you're out of luck," Fischer told WND.

The actual program, he noted, doesn't demand a person be homosexual, but is set up so that only those deliberately looking for "gay" travel options would find it.

A spokeswoman for the airline, Amanda Bielawski, returned WND's call requesting a comment, but didn't answer questions, noting that she didn't know about the program. Then she quizzed WND on who had given the news organization information on the program.

Fischer said he'd been told by sources the corporation viewed the homosexual community as a "gigantic profitable segment of the market."

The company earlier had an offer to travel to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, under its "gay" discount, and currently is offering discounted "holiday" travel.

"Lucky travelers who immediately switch their sexual orientation from heterosexual to anything else can qualify for a special 10 percent discount for holiday travel to New York City," noted Fischer. "All they have to do, according to Alaska, is enter a special discount code "when you purchase your tickets at [the "gay" web page].

"Alaska is basically imposing a 10 percent surcharge for these destinations on travelers who are sexually normal. It's certainly odd to see such blatant discrimination against heterosexuals from a company that claims to be all about equal treatment for everyone," Fischer said.

"It's always a mistake for a company to establish policies that normalize homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality and transgenderism, but to add insult to injury by penalizing straights in the process is inexcusable," he said.

The airline's special page also promotes flights to events such as the "5th Los Angeles LGBT People of Color Film Festival," and the "8th International Conference of Gay and Lesbian Tourism."

Within about five minutes of the collapse, the US Department of Homeland Security issued a statement: "There is no indication of terrorism in the disaster".

Wow... those guys are so good. Instead of saying, "We just don't know what happened yet", they're already 100% certain that no one was involved in intentionally causing harm to this bridge. They're incredible! So good that they ought to know exactly where the missing people are and what DID cause this - well, five minutes ago.

The very fact that DHS rushes such statements out worries me. They really have no clue but in order to insure there is no panic (is that why?), they say such things. And because they do rush this kind of a blanket statement out, you can rest assured that they will say the same thing if indeed there WAS terrorism behind an event.

Such a waste of government resources... they ought to rename themselves the U.S. Department of Propaganda. This is at a time when we need clarity, honesty, and a transparent government. Sadly, we have none of those.

Virginia Tech and John Edwards... any difference?

A distinction that is largely being ignored (purposefully) is that the Supreme Court DID NOT BAN ABORTION. They DID outlaw a very controversial type of abortion call LATE TERM; a process in which a baby is killed literally upon birth. In all other ages of history, this specific singular process was called infanticide and was often that mark of a barbaric society.

Senator John Edwards then released the following statement about the Supreme Court ruling upholding the federal abortion ban:

"I could not disagree more strongly with today's Supreme Court decision. The ban upheld by the Court is an ill-considered and sweeping prohibition that does not even take account for serious threats to the health of individual women. This hard right turn is a stark reminder of why Democrats cannot afford to lose the 2008 election. Too much is at stake - starting with, as the Court made all too clear today, a woman's right to choose."

Too much is at stake to stop killing? What?

As I examine Edwards words, how is he that much different from Cho, at Virginia Tech? Both are rambling and incoherent, both use crooked logic, both are blaming others, both are wanting to murder life.

If there is proof that every woman that undergoes late term abortion is actually in a life threatening condition, that is one thing. But, really, we ALL know this is truly NOT the case. Does Edwards, and the left, think we're idiots here?

Is life SO CHEAP that we are willing to throw it away, after is has already begun, and at the moment of birth, without a moments regret? Is it so cheap that politicians CAMPAIGN on this right to murder? No WONDER we end up with children like Cho. No wonder our values are gone.

Then, we act outraged at what Cho did to those poor students? Hypocrisy and mental illness I think. We should be outraged at ALL loss of life, young and old.

What kind of monster then is Edwards? Actually desiring a process to continue in which children are killed brutally, at birth? Not in the first few months of pregnancy, but AT BIRTH. Edwards IS Cho... show me the difference if any exists!

Barbara Boxer IS Cho. Feinstein IS Cho. Edwards IS Cho. One kills with a gun, the other kills with a pen. Both murders are ghastly and grisly and painful.

* "1st Speaker: A Muslim cleric invoking the name of Allah and quoting the Quran."

* "2nd Speaker: A Buddhist Community Leader preaching that mankind is basically 'good.'"

* "3rd Speaker: A Female speaker from the Jewish Community quoting Ecclesiastes: 'There is a time for everything.'"

* "4th Speaker: A Liberal Lutheran Minister talking about 'healing,' etc. and how everyone needs to come together (blah, blah, blah…)."

Uhhh, say, why has no one mentioned the name of Jesus? That is correct... not once.
Does no one see this as strange? Everybody, everything (including elephants in Africa and baby seals in the Arctic), and every deity, BUT NO Jesus Christ?

We impose our puny way of life and philosophy onto others and we're disrespectful of other people, other countries, other families, other religions (and I DO NOT mean Islam here, they are worse and less tolerant than we are with all of their "Kill the Infidel" stuff in the Koran).

We worship abominations under the guise of tolerance, when we ourselves are 100% intolerant. We ascribe rights to abominations while destroying all things in our past that represent value and virtue. We put perversion and crooked behavior on the alter to raise homage to them , while simultaneously tearing down everything meaningful, anything wise, and anything family oriented. We banish Christianity (the TRUE religion of peace) while raising and protecting ANY belief or practice that is nothing more than anti-Christian - and we call that, in our own twisted way, "tolerance".

We're destroying ourselves. We're idiots. We're toast. And we can't even see it... So, appropriately, we will sink into the morass of history and become a footnote in the big scheme of things (just like the Roman periods of Caligula and Nero, et al). As it should be. We've fallen... and we can't get up. And there ain't no button for us to push to have help come and rescue us. We did this to ourselves. We're ALL to Blame

I read, with much interest, a recent editorial claiming that the American economy is collapsing. The bottom line of the article is that the corporate world is essentially to blame: "America has been scammed big-time over the years. The corporate wheelers and dealers, with the complicity of their bought and paid for political whores in Washington, have sold the American working man down the river, and the general welfare of the entire country as well."

The author continues to say that the "corporate crooks" now blame the "greedy American worker, the communist labor unions, the demand of Americans to have clean air and water, and worst of all the bunker mentality of the American people to put up fences against free trade, protectionism." He also reasons that these corporations own most mass media in America and as a result, they work to insure the blame isn't put upon the corporations.

So, what is the truth here? Well, as usual, a little of everything.

Corporations are suffering from agency issues. Where stakeholders hire a management team to run a company, the management team has basically taken the company as their own and to hell with the stakeholders. To wit, the enormous salaries, perks, and golden parachutes managers award themselves (via their pals on the board). How did this happen? Here is how: Your representatives (you elected) care more about their relationship with big business than with you, the SEC is a joke, stockholders are unconsciousness, huge blocks of stock are now managed by singularly friendly fund managers and investment houses, and even those that are individual stockholders often blithely state, "hey if they keep the stock price up, give them the huge salary." Bottom line: stakeholder GAVE UP their control. Should I continue?

I work for a large global concern... they regularly threw HUGE 3-4 day parties at their world headquarters inviting ONLY investment managers and Wall Street Analysts. These were large, lavish, plush, and EXPENSIVE events with the finest wine and champagne - using the stakeholders dividends or assets. Yet, not a peep of outrage from the stakeholders. The company? A large IT firm. And all the while the stock was plummeting.

And if you think you're going to get back any kind of control... I laugh at you. You willingly GAVE IT UP. We all did. It's too late - fasten your seat belts.

Considering the corporate charge? Yes... American's are greedy. Nothing else matters and that same message is repeatedly pushed into our mushy heads to reinforce that. To wit: the mainstream media's (FOX, CNN, et al.) obsession with dead Anna Nicole Smith and her baby. It's ALL ABOUT money and nothing more.

And yes, unions are paid far more than they should be but they have a legitimate beef when they claim that management's salaries are rising exponentially - so then should theirs.

Who are the corporate leaders? Management. And so unskilled labor is just following the leader. Can you blame them?

And let's talk about the consumer. John and Jane Doe. They put their children into daycare so that both can be bring home more and more and more and more money. Greed above family? Everyone HAS TO HAVE the latest toys, newest cars, biggest houses - whether they can afford them or not.

Yet, all the consumer has to do is not buy what they don't need or really want. That won't happen though. We must ALL keep up with the Joneses and we're all in debt up to eyeballs. Easy credit is the gasoline on the fire... low interest rates are the logs on the fire... greed is the match that starts the fire... and our own inability to think clearly or act rationally is the wind that fans the fire.

We have a bonfire at hand - but the blame rests with all of us.

College Professor Demands Republicans Be Killed

A professor at North Idaho College says it's all right to talk about executing "anyone who's ever voted Republican". The belief was expressed by instructor Jessica Bryan, of Northern Idaho College when her comments were challenged by a student, Linda Cook, who served as an aide to the late U.S. Rep. Helen Chenoweth, R-Idaho, and is a longtime supporter of the Republican Party.

Among statements made by Jessica Bryan, in the English class she teaches: "President George W. Bush won the election because people … can't read." Bryan then continues: "First we line up everyone who can't think and right behind them, anyone who's ever voted Republican." and we kill them.

Well well... so much for enlightened educators in our colleges. Here we have one openly calling for the execution of Republicans. And this is "tolerance"?

When everything backfired and public sentiment came down hard on Bryan for her insane hate filled in class rant, she said "it's OK to say that, as long as one smiles when they say it". Bryan, in her own defense then continues: Anyone that disagrees with me with me is really the ones filled with hate. Now Bryan contends - she is the one that has been hurt by others reactions to her hate "with a smile".

Oh my God... either she is nuts or she is an idiot - why does she still have her job? Folks, this is at Northern Idaho College. Again, the instructors name is Jessica Bryan.

Thursday, 15 February 2007, a truck jack-knifed on an ice covered road in Pennsylvania. Twenty four hours later... there was still no response to this accident, which by now had caused a backup of cars for over 50 miles. Is this evidence of a shortage of people or capabilities, or is this a breakdown in communications? Either way, this is absurd. David Sipe is a once convicted criminal who can honestly say he "didn't do it."

"Relief. Relief. After 7 years, it's gone. It's over." The ex-border patrol agent gets a 2001 guilty verdict overturned in his retrial for civil rights violations against a smuggler. The incident dates back to April of 2000 in Penitas.

"He was striking me in the side... he was very close to my weapon... and I had to do what I could to control the situation as fast as I could." Fearing for his life, David subdues the smuggler by hitting him with his flashlight. It results in staples to the smugglers head. A border patrol investigation is launched and deems his actions inappropriate-- even illegal.

"I don't know how they're able to do that... but I don't think that's fair."

Neither did a jury who overturns his conviction from the first trial against him.

David says the government, who he faithfully worked under for nearly 4 years, turns its back on him while rolling out the red carpet, as he puts it, for the illegals turned witnesses.

"They got to stay here and work in our country." The smuggler even gets a government settlement. "80 thousand dollars... he now has his own ranch in Mexico.' As for David-- he doesn't collect a thing. In fact, his life and family gets ripped apart.

"My house foreclosed on after having to file bankruptcy, my children having to live through this... of course my wife divorcing me." Through it all, he says, justice is served. And while most about David is forever changed one thing returns and it's most important thing to him of all. "I have my freedom back. I'm a man of honor again." What lead to this morning's "not guilty" verdict reversal against the former border patrol agent? Turns out his attorney says the prosecution in the first trial supressed evidence and lied about benefits given to "Alien" witnesses.

Attorney Jack Wolfe explains. "They with-held evidence about their witnesses who had prior convictions...they didn't tell us... they were supposed to tell us. In fact, they told us that they had no witnesses with convictions." A new trial was granted and David Sipe's conviction was thrown out. As a result, Sipe is a free man and fighting to get his job back.

My opinion: Ford and GM will (HAVE TO) follow shortly since they want their assembly plants near Delphi's parts making. This then also puts the crimp on any sub assembly companies that service Delphi, Ford, GM, etc... The ripple effects will be enormous over time.

When we have 1) Management that gives itself million dollar raises, 2) Laborers that demand $90,000 a year plus the most outrageous health care and retirement packages in the universe... while foreign labor is paid 2 dollars an hour? You tell me there's no war on the Middle-Class!

To the dismay of the nation’s governors, the White House now will be empowered to go over a governor’s head and call up National Guard troops to aid a state in time of natural disasters or other public emergencies. Up to now, governors were the sole commanders in chief of citizen soldiers in local Guard units during emergencies within the state.

A conflict over who should control Guard units arose in the days after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. President Bush sought to federalize control of Guardsmen in Louisiana in the chaos after the hurricane, but Gov. Kathleen Blanco (D) refused to relinquish command.

Over objections from all 50 governors, Congress in October tweaked the 200-year-old Insurrection Act to empower the hand of the president in future stateside emergencies. In a letter to Congress, the governors called the change "a dramatic expansion of federal authority during natural disasters that could cause confusion in the command-and-control of the National Guard and interfere with states' ability to respond to natural disasters within their borders."

Mexico Attacks the United States - Anarchy on the Border

"A U.S. Border Patrol entry Identification Team site was overrun Wednesday night along Arizona's border with Mexico. According to the Border Patrol, an unknown number of gunmen attacked the site in the state's West Desert Region around 11 p.m. The site is manned by National Guardsmen. Those guardsmen were forced to retreat. The Border Patrol will not say whether shots were fired. However, no Guardsmen were injured in the incident. The Border Patrol says the incident occurred somewhere along the 120 mile section of the border between Nogales and Lukeville. The area is known as a drug corridor. Last year, 124-thousand pounds of illegal drugs were confiscated in this area. The Border patrol says the attackers quickly retreated back into Mexico."

BOSTON, Nov. 22, 2006 — Joe Mroszczyk, president of the College Republicans at Boston University, admits he set out to stir up a hornet's nest when he came up with the idea of offering a whites-only scholarship at the school. But he got a little more buzz than he bargained for.

"To tell you the truth, we didn't see this coming," Mroszczyk said. "The Drudge Report picked it up yesterday, and today I just finished a round of national interviews. It's kind of overwhelming."

All the media attention is focused on a $250 Caucasian Achievement and Recognition Scholarship offered by Mroszczyk and the BU chapter of the College Republicans. Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher; they must write two essays; and, here's the kicker, they must be at least one-quarter Caucasian.

On November 7, Minnesota became the first state to send a Muslim to Congress. His name is Keith Ellison, a former Catholic who converted to Islam at age 19. While campaigning, he seldom mentioned his faith unless asked about it.

Muslims around the world are celebrating. Even Al-Jazeera gave Ellison's victory front page space. Muslims rightly feel a new sense of acceptance in America after the horrors of 9/11 and the somewhat-justified fear of Muslims that many Americans have of them.

There are some huge concerns, nonetheless. On my radio program last weekend I played a clip of Ellison's acceptance speech. The crowd began shouting "Allah Akbar," meaning "God is greater," which is often spoken during acts of Islamic violence. I am not suggesting Ellison is violent and certainly not suggesting he is a jihadist; however, to hear these words in the usual defiant voice was disturbing.

However, Ellison had ties to Louis Farrakhan's "Nation of Islam." Why has this been played down? His Republican opponent, Alan Fine, was concerned about these past ties though Ellison tried to deny them. But when Ellison denounced Farrakhan, he even got some Jewish votes in this raging blue state of Minnesota.

Ellison will be sworn in on a Koran. So now the Bible is equivalent to the Koran in the halls of Congress? Doesn't this then mean he is pledging allegiance to Islamic Law (Sharia) rather than our Constitution? Where is the outrage here?

Is the ‘Survivalist’ a loony?

Why is the survivalist thought of as a loony when he makes ready to face events that are just as much a part of history and nature as the sunset and the changing of the seasons.

Survivalists are people that have loved ones they don't want to see hurt or killed, they have homes they don't want to see destroyed, they are not fools to think that just because they are survivalists a world cataclysm would be fun for them or that they would not experience danger, loss, hunger, injury, cold or even despair and death.

No, they will NOT be disappointed if there is no disaster to survive, anymore than the Red Cross is disappointed when there are no floods and storms or the man who buys an insurance policy is disappointed when his house fails to burn down.

It is most regrettable indeed, that many people consider survivalists as a threat and regard them with suspicion and even hostility. I suppose this is not really surprising when the press and media plug at the ‘Rambo’ type as being the typical ‘survivalist’. This attitude is logically indefensible and is rooted in the nonsurvivalists own sense of fear and guilt. Subconsciously, the nonsurvivalist may hate the survivalist for reminding him of how fragile his own lifestyle is.

An intelligent approach to survivalism would recognize that while individual efforts and skills are important, it is vital for people to survive AS A GROUP and that for such survival, in-depth organization will be necessary.

Short-term survivalism is a brief struggle for life, with the ultimate goal of returning to a normal or nearly normal situation. Some examples are:

* Keeping yourself alive after becoming lost in the woods.
* Keeping yourself and your passengers safe when your car becomes stuck in a blizzard.
* Surviving long enough to be rescued after you've broken a leg hiking.

You can see from this list that it's not inconceivable for a normal person to be in a short-term survival situation. If you engage in any outdoor leisure, it's a good idea to learn a little about short-term survivalism.

Long-term survivalism is an extended struggle for life, with little or no hope of returning to a normal or nearly normal situation. Some examples of long-term survivalism are:

* Heading to the woods after a societal collapse.
* Getting lost in a vast wilderness area, such as Alaska or the Amazon.
* Being stranded in an undeveloped country, days or weeks away from help.

With the exception of a societal collapse, you'd have to go out of your way to find yourself in a long-term survival situation. The survivalist is simply being prepared for a short- OR long-term situation where they must be self-sufficient.

So lets get the facts right. Let's get the facts turned around right. Every person who has NOT made provisions for surviving without food, water, fuel and other essential needs from the outside is a mortal danger to his, or her, neighbors.

What will a man do when he and his family are freezing, hungry, thirsty, sick and starving? He may ask, or he may beg his neighbors for help, but when they have no extra fuel, food, water or medicine to give, will he just go back home to die with his wife and kids? What do you think?

Survival preparation should be regarded as a social obligation, one that every individual owes to his family and community and neighbors, and his nation.

What do the rest of the pro-war neoconservatives think? I expect to encounter disappointment. What I find instead is despair, and fury at the incompetence of the Bush administration the neoconservatives once saw as their brightest hope.

To David Frum, the former White House speechwriter who co-wrote Bush's 2002 State of the Union address that accused Iraq of being part of an "axis of evil," it now looks as if defeat may be inescapable, because "the insurgency has proven it can kill anyone who cooperates, and the United States and its friends have failed to prove that it can protect them." This situation, he says, must ultimately be blamed on "failure at the center"—starting with President Bush.

Peaceful Muslims Kill Christians for being Christian

A website in Assyria is confirming that a 14-year-old Christian boy who was working a 12-hour shift maintaining an electric generator has been murdered by Muslim insurgents.

The Assyrian International News Agency said the tragedy was reported by an Assyrian language web page at www.ankawa.com.

The youth was identified as Ayad Tariq, who lived in Baqouba, Iraq, and was at work on Oct. 21 when a group of "disguised Muslim insurgents" went into the power plant shortly after his shift began at 6 a.m.

The website reported the insurgents asked him for his identification and, according to other witnesses who hid and stayed alive to report on the attack, questioned his identification card's reference to him as a "Christian."

Are you truly a "Christian sinner," they asked. "Yes, I am Christian but I am not a sinner," he replied. The insurgents then called him a "dirty Christian sinner," grabbed his limbs and held them while beheading him, the witnesses reported.

They were shouting, "Allahu akbar! Allahu Akbar!" during the murder, witnesses said.

MEXICO CITY — Mexico, supported by 27 other nations, made a declaration at the Organization of American States slamming U.S. plans to build hundreds of miles (kilometers) of fence on its southern border.

The declaration, read aloud Wednesday at the OAS headquarters in Washington, said the barriers would not solve the immigration problem and urged the U.S. government to rethink its position, according to press releases from the OAS and Mexican foreign ministry.

The 28 nations express "deep concern regarding the decision adopted by the United States of America to build and extend a wall on its border with Mexico, considering it to be a unilateral measure that goes against the spirit of understanding," it said in the declaration, which was read out by Mexico's Ambassador Alejandro Garcia Moreno.

Webb - Crazy Author Who Thinks He Should Represent You

In an interview on Washington Post Radio Friday morning, Jim Webb, the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Virginia, said excerpts of his novels are "a little bit inappropriate" to be read on news radio. "I don't know why you're reading that on WTOP," Webb told host Mark Plotkin. "I think it's a little bit inappropriate." Plotkin was reading an excerpt from Webb's novel "Something to Die For," in which Webb describes a female stripper performing sexual acts with a banana.

The campaign of Republican Sen. George Allen on Thursday released excerpts from some of the war novels Webb wrote between 1978 and 2002. The books include some graphic sexual passages, as well as frequent uses of a racial slur for blacks and descriptions of Vietnamese women as "monkey-faced." Among the excerpts is a scene from the 2002 novel "Lost Soldiers," in which a man embraces his four-year-old son and places the boy's penis in his mouth.

Webb said the release of the excerpts was "a Karl Rove campaign tactic... It's smear after smear."

Well, Webb DID write these words and he did publish these words, did he not? What is he ashamed of? And he calls this a smear - right! Webb, a journalist (great - just what we need is a journalist in office), seems to be backing away from the truth here. So what would he do as a politician representing your district in a difficult situation?

Senator Dodd thinks Webb is a great guy and a great writer - figures. But then again, there are wild wild stories from the bars about Sen. Dodd and Sen. Kennedy's behavior with women. The antipathy that congressional Democrats have today toward President George W. Bush is reminiscent of their distrust of President Ronald Reagan during the Cold War, a political science professor says.

"We see some of the same sentiments today, in that some Democrats see the Republican president as being a threat and the true obstacle to peace, instead of seeing our enemies as the true danger," said Paul Kengor, a political science professor at Grove City College and the author of new book, The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism.

In his book, which came out this week, Kengor focuses on a KGB letter written at the height of the Cold War that shows that Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) offered to assist Soviet [Communist] leaders in formulating a public relations strategy to counter President Reagan's [American] foreign policy and to complicate his re-election efforts.

The letter, dated May 14, 1983, was sent from the head of the KGB to Yuri Andropov, who was then General Secretary of the Soviet Union's Communist Party.

In his letter, KGB head Viktor Chebrikov offered Andropov his interpretation of Kennedy's offer. Former U.S. Sen. John Tunney (D-Calif.) had traveled to Moscow on behalf of Kennedy to seek out a partnership with Andropov and other Soviet [Communist] officials, says Kengor.

It's Insane - Border Patrol sentenced for stopping drug dealer

EL PASO, Texas Two former U.S. Border Patrol agents were each sentenced Thursday to more than a decade in federal prison for shooting and wounding a Mexican drug smuggler and trying to cover it up.

Ignacio Ramos was sentenced to 11 years and one day, and Jose Alonso Compean was sentenced to 12 years. Both were fired after their convictions on several charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, obstruction of justice, and a civil rights violation.

The men, neither of whom spoke in court, will be allowed to turn themselves in Jan. 17.

The agents have proclaimed their innocence in the Feb. 17, 2005, shooting in the buttocks of admitted drug smuggler Osvlado Aldrete Davila.

Their convictions have drawn criticism from members of the U.S. Congress and others who say the men are being punished for doing their jobs. A handful of protesters outside the courtroom held signs with messages such as "Trial's for Criminals, Not Cops" and "Miscarriage of Justice to Convict Heroes!"

Before the sentencing, Walter Boyaki, a U.S. civil lawyer for the victim, asked the judge to do her job "and not have the possibility that we put a bull's-eye on every illegal alien and say 'Go get 'em.'"

Boyake said Aldrete was physically incapacitated and could not be in court Thursday.

Aldrete was shot as he fled across the Rio Grande into Mexico after a confrontation with Ramos and Compean. The agents said they shot in self defense, but prosecutors charged that they had no reason to shoot at the fleeing man, who later claimed he was unarmed.

If I owned UPS and Fedex stock, I would be upset to read in the Adrian Van Eck newsletter that "Chinese Party bosses have just shoved through shocking new rules that will strip away 90% of the Chinese international small-package market FROM UPS and Fedex and reserve it for Red China's state-owned carriers". And this is just after the American firms had invested Millions of Dollars in China and developed techniques that showed Beijing how to organize this activity.

Buenos Aires, Oct 13 (Prensa Latina) An Argentine official regarded the intention of the George W. Bush family to settle on the Acuifero Guarani (Paraguay) as surprising, besides being a bad signal for the governments of the region. Luis D Elia, undersecretary for the Social Habitat in the Argentine Federal Planning Ministry, issued a memo partially reproduced by digital INFOBAE.com, in which he spoke of the purchase by Bush of a 98,842-acre farm in northern Paraguay, between Brazil and Bolivia. The news circulated Thursday in non-official sources in Asuncion, Paraguay.

D Elia considered this Bush step counterproductive for the regional power expressed by Presidents Nestor Kirchner, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Evo Morales, Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro. He said that "it is a bad signal that the Bush family is doing business with natural resources linked to the future of MERCOSUR." The official pointed out that this situation could cause a hypothetical conflict of all the armies in the region, and called attention to the Bush family habit of associating business and politics.

Republican uses animals, mariachi band to critique US southern border security!

October 11, 2006 — Reports of an elephant crossing the river or people trying to smuggle an elephant across were rampant Tuesday while an elaborate political stunt was taking shape near the mouth of the Rio Grande.

“The elephant never made landfall into Mexico, but I tell you something, he could have made 15 laps back and forth, but no one showed up,” said Raj Peter Bhakta, a former star on the NBC show “The Apprentice,” who also is a Republican candidate for the 13th District U.S. House of Representatives seat in Eastern Pennsylvania. He was in Brownsville to raise funds with friends and decided to get a first-hand look at border security while he was here, he said. In Brownsville, he witnessed half a dozen men swim under one of the international bridges “with complete immunity” which in turn prompted him to take the immigration issue to the next level.

Three elephants, two African and an Asian, were taken out to a ranch near Boca Chica beach to perform, the 31-year-old Bhakta said. Bhakta decided to see if he could get an elephant accompanied by a six-piece mariachi band across the river. “To my surprise, the band played on, the elephants splashed away, and nobody showed up,” Bhakta said of the stunt. “I’m astounded.”
